Layout building and rebuilding continues

The Club currently has two main layout projects the continued refresh of our Chilcompton layout which has evolved into a full scale rebuild. To date we have re-laid over half of the track to improve the running of the layout, strengthened all of the baseboards, installed new larger back scenes and refurbished or replaced around half of the buildings on the layout. Work still to be done is a total rewiring of the layout, updating some of the scenery and ballasting the relaid track. Whilst we showed the layout at our September show show there are still improvements we need to make over the coming few months.

 

 

 

 

The other on going project is the construction of our new Oakenshaw layout. We are about half way through this process with many of the buildings completed with many of the rest are under construction. We are currently aiming at a September 2013 completion date.
