December 2005:
We started December with a Club display at the Warley National Model
Railway Exhibition at the NEC. Hopefully the near 18,000 visitors to the
show appreciated our display of Club member's work. We completed the special layout which is destined to be
a Christmas present for one of member's grandson just in time for Santa to
collect it - We understand we gave one grandson a very happy Christmas!

November 2005: Work on Club
nights has gone back to long task of finishing our London based 4mm
layout. We are also currently working a special layout which is destined to be
a Christmas present for one of member's grandson

| October 2005:
We started the month of by taking the Buckshee
layout to the Evesham Model Railway Show. The layout was very well received
but the reliability of some of the locomotives let us down. On the positive
side we won a large and tasty Victoria Sponge cake in the show raffle which
was soon eaten by Club members the following Tuesday evening. Work on Club
nights has gone back to long task of finishing our London based 4mm
layout. |
|
| September 2005: The Club
staged the first all new Birmingham Model Railway Exhibition over the weekend
of the 17th and 18th September. It proved to be a very successful first show
which was well received by exhibitors, traders and visitors. We ended the
weekend with a very respectable 1270 visitors to the show - We will definitely
be back in 2006! |
|
| August 2005:
Much of the work
this month is still centered around preparing layouts for our forthcoming
model railway exhibition commitments in the autumn. Over the weekend of the
27th and 28th August the club exhibited our Chilcompton
layout at the Sedgemoor Rail Exhibition in Burnham-on-Sea. Being only a matter
of around 15 miles from the actual place the layout is based on meant the
layout was very well received by the show visitors. |
|
| July 2005: Much of the
work this month has once again been centered on the continued of our new London based layout and
improvements to the Buckshee
layout. |
|
| June 2005: Much of the
work this month has once again been centered on the continued of our new London based layout and
improvements to the Buckshee layout. The Club's Annual General Meeting once again provided
few surprises and the Committee where re-elected on block for a further
twelve months. |
|
| May 2005: The Club staged
another successful Redditch Model Railway Exhibition over the weekend of the
6th & 7th. For the rest of the month work has once again been centered on the continued of our new London based layout and
improvements to the Buckshee layout. |
|
| April 2005:
Work this
month will been centered on the continued of our new London based layout and
improvements to the Buckshee
layout.
|
|
| March 2005:
The highlight of the month was the exhibition of our
Chilcompton layout at the Redruth show at Can Brea in Cornwall. Whilst the show was
uneventful the journey back was because of an electrical fault on the hire van.
We ended up layout and all on the back of an AA relay truck. The AA driver
decided a model railway layout was the second most unusual thing he had had on
his recovery truck - The first was a submarine! |
|
| February 2005: Work this
month has been centered on the continued of our new London based layout and improvements to the Buckshee layout. |
|
|
January 2005: The Club had a
very successful weekend exhibiting our Chilcompton layout at the Chesterfield Exhibition. We have to say they put some other exhibitions
to shame with their hospitality afforded to exhibitors.
